BEV sales in the top 5 European markets increased by 18% in the third quarter of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, despite persistent supply problems and a bleak economic outlook. Check out our interactive map and full article below!
From 7% in 2020 to 14% in Q3 2022, the BEV market share in France has more than doubled in less than two years.
With little under 15% for the YTD in 2022, Germany and the UK now have almost comparable BEV market shares. But Germany is by far the biggest market in Europe for BEV sales.
With total BEV sales of about 19,000 in Q3 2022 and BEV market shares of only 4% so far this year, Italy and Spain are still far behind.
Sweden and the Netherlands had the biggest gains in BEV sales among the other European markets examined, with rises of 25% and 20%, respectively, in Q3 2022 compared to Q3 2021.
Over that time period, Norway’s BEV sales decreased by 21%. There are probably not many consumers left to draw in considering that BEV market share is currently at 78% for the year, by far the highest in the globe.
