Global EV market maturity scores

A number of unforeseen difficulties made 2022 a year marked by many unexpected obstacles, which caused a decline in the overall number of new automobile registrations. The only industry to have a very high level of resilience was e-mobility market.
Over 5 million fully electric vehicles were registered globally in the first half of the year, an increase of more than 70% from 2021. Demand in this market is rising, which shows how businesses and fleet managers are prioritising the environment in their operations.

ALD developed an overview with 42 distinct country scorecards showcasing the 6 metrics used to determine the scoring. The grading system they utilised for the Mobility Guide 2022 edition takes into account a number of elements and challenges while making the switch to an electric fleet. Range anxiety, the complexity of the infrastructure for charging, and cost are the key obstacles to the adoption of BEVs.
