Truck makers prepare for mass production of electric trucks

Starting in 2024, European truck makers such as Daimler, MAN, Scania, and Volvo will concentrate on bringing electric trucks to the mass market for all vehicle segments, including long-haul. Around 30 zero-emission truck models have already been announced for mass production in Europe by 2025.
Daimler Truck AG is preparing to launch its 500-kilometer-range eActros LongHaul truck in series manufacturing in 2024.

By 2024, MAN Truck & Bus SE will also commence serial production of its 450-kilometer-range eTruck.

Scania Group is developing battery-powered 40-tonne trucks capable of running for 560 kilometres between stops in four and a half hours. The business also plans to sell electric vocational vehicles such as construction, mining, and timber trucks by 2025.

Volvo Trucks began series manufacturing of its Volvo FH Electric last year, offering 500 km with a short charging stop.

DAF Trucks NV will commence serial production of its 500 km-range XD Electric and XF Electric vehicles in 2023.

IVECO plans to commence serial production of the Nikola Tre BEV with a 500 km range in 2023.

Furthermore, several European manufacturers, including Daimler, Volvo, and IVECO, plan to begin serial manufacturing of FCEVs by the end of the decade.
