Comparison of hydrogen and battery electric trucks

Only zero-emission vehicles, such as battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and hydrogen fuel cell trucks (FCEVs), can provide a credible long-term path to full decarbonization of the road freight sector. The methodology and assumptions used to calculate the total cost of ownership (TCO) of the two vehicle technologies for regional delivery and long-haul truck applications are detailed in this report. Other criteria covered include refuelling and charging times, as well as potential payload losses.
